Residential
Basements, crawl spaces and below-grade walls on occupied homes, plus new foundations that need protecting before backfill. Access, noise and reinstatement are planned around the household.
04Why Metro
Waterproofing is one of the few trades where you cannot inspect the result. The wall gets backfilled and you find out whether it was done properly during the next wet season — or ten years later.
So the reasons to choose a contractor are all about what they do when nobody is watching.
—Reasons
None of these are unusual. They are simply the parts of the job that get skipped when a schedule gets tight.
—Process
The same four stages on every job, residential or commercial. Nothing gets covered up until the stage before it is right.
—Materials & technique
Every product Metro installs has a specification behind it: a surface it needs, a coverage rate it was tested at, a temperature range it cures in, and a way its edges and penetrations are supposed to be dressed.
Following that specification is not a premium service — it is the difference between a barrier and a coat of paint. Where a wall calls for a heavier system than the one you asked about, you get told, along with the reason.
A perfect membrane still fails if the ground slopes back towards the building or the downpipes discharge against the foundation. Where those conditions are visible, they get raised — whether or not they are part of the quoted work.
—Capability
Owner-operated, working across British Columbia on new construction and on buildings that already have a problem.
Residential
Basements, crawl spaces and below-grade walls on occupied homes, plus new foundations that need protecting before backfill. Access, noise and reinstatement are planned around the household.
Commercial
Below-grade walls and structures, plant and parkade areas, and exposed concrete that has to hold up to traffic and salt. Sequencing is planned around the site staying in use.
Service area
British Columbia. A wet-climate province where saturated ground is the normal winter condition, not an unusual event.
—Next step
An assessment is the only honest way to answer that. Send the details of the building and what you are seeing.
